You Don’t Have to Listen to Limp Bizkit Anymore

When I was in high school, I ended up singing Limp Bizkit’s rendition of “Faith” when I ran for Homecoming King.

I haven’t listened to Limp Bizkit in more than 15 years, and while I’ll still rock “Faith” at a karaoke bar, there’s a lot of songs (ie. “Nookie”) that I now find pretty gross and offensive that I didn’t find problematic when I was less educated and less empathetic.

Just because you were a fan of something before, doesn’t mean you have to continue being a fan when the work (or the artist) is no longer something you’re interested in.

Art reflects culture, and culture reflects who we are as a society. As it shifts, so can we, if we so choose.
