The Cost of a Goal

When thinking about goals, we usually focus on the outcome that we’re looking for. We focus on shaping the goalposts in our mind, and perhaps even trying to visualize us in the champion’s circle.

However, everything comes with a price, even if you can’t see it.

To meet your goal, what’s the tradeoff?

Time? Energy? Money? Ethics? A limb? Our entire lives? Our relationships? Your pride? Your fear?

What we don’t do often enough is come to terms with what exactly we’re willing to give up in order to make it to our goals.

The hardest part about all of this though, is the fact that even if we pay the price, our dreams still might not come true.

So the real questions are: What are you willing to pay to create the chance to get your goal? What’s the cost that will make you turn away and choose a new goal?
