In a general sense, I truly believe in the saying that “A rising tide floats all boats.” When looked at with a spirit of generosity, often when you make things better for everyone, you benefit as well.
The only issues with this is when not everyone has boats, or the cost of rising the tide is catastrophic.
When the ocean literally rises, people living in coastal areas will lose everything. Meaning that the earth has warmed sufficiently and then people in arid areas will be having more and more days in 100+ degree weather.
When the tide rises, and a majority of people can’t afford boats, then many will drown.
So I’m all for actions that raise up everyone, but we have to make sure that we’re truly raising everyone up, and not just our own little in-group.
