You may have tried so hard, and gotten so far, and it might feel like in the end it doesn’t even matter.
Are you focused on the outcome – perhaps falling and losing it all – and now you’re in a nihilistic state that wants to give up?
Or is it that you’ve realized the goal you were working towards isn’t what you really want and that calling it quits and ignoring sunk costs is the way forward?
Or are you realizing that it’s about the process – the result might not matter nearly as much as the learning and growth that you’ve gained through the process of going after said goal?
