Don’t Break Belonging

If you’re a leader seeking to build belonging in your organization or team or loose confederation of monster hunters or whatever, you’ve got to build trust. 

Trust, interestingly enough, is measured by its weakest facet. 

This means you can have all the credibility in the world, but if you don’t show care towards others, or if there’s inconsistency between your words and actions, you’re going to erode that precious trust that you’re trying to build. 

If you don’t have trust, then people won’t feel safe to be their true selves.

If people are scared to be their true selves, then they’ll never feel like they belong. You can’t feel like you belong if you’re not showing up as your true self.

So want to increase belonging? Build trust.
