More information is always helpful when trying to figure out where you’re going, and a compass is a great tool to get more information.
Compasses work to show you whether or not you’re moving in the correct cardinal direction. Did you want to go east? Great, north is that way, so we’re going in the correct direction.
The only downside of compasses is that you need to know what direction you want to go in the first place.
So if you’re looking to get somewhere, whether directionally or metaphorically, it pays to not only have the tools to help you decide whether or not you’re on the right path but to also know where you want to go in the first place.
The clearer you can make those goals, the easier time you’ll have using the data to help you get there.
