While I get that it’s just something we say as kids to ask for free candy, this is basically extortion.
We go around asking for a treat, otherwise we’re going to perform some sort of retribution on neighbors who now often have no relationship to us?
I at least appreciate the honesty here. It is at least clear in the repercussions that a negative response will bring. Too often leaders ask questions that they already have answers to, but are under the guise of being open to feedback.
Receiving feedback and taking it to heart is the best way forward to building a resilient organization, but if you’re going to be a dictator, at least own up to it.
