Pools of Chocolate Pudding

So often we can see the obvious solution for someone else’s problem. Next steps, new ways to think about the solution, all of this is so clear to us when we look outwards.

Looking inward, however, often seems like we’re trying to glean some answer through a pool of chocolate pudding.

The simple solution then is to find the others who can reflect back to you what you’re missing. It doesn’t matter if it’s a coach or friend or peer or boss – you want to find people who can see through your own pudding pool to where you have opportunities to learn and grow.

Alternatively, one can build the intentional space and time in order to do this reflection, but I find that it’s often easier for someone else to point me in the right direction so that I can get clearer about where I’m headed in the first place.
