No Life Hacks

I know, it’s all about semantics, but I really dislike the term “life hack,” even though I use it for it’s cultural shorthand utility.

You can’t “hack” life, or most things. You’re making life improvements. There are no “culture hacks” when you’re working on building teams.

It’s just simple things that take emotional labor. This emotional labor is something we’re often not trained on, and so it feels difficult and that’s why many people don’t do these simple improvements to life, even though they can be incredibly powerful.

So here’s the biggest culture hack of them all: Build trust.

It’s simple, and it pays incredible dividends.
