Juneteenth

Juneteenth becoming a national holiday was a long-time coming. Our country, at a federal level, is finally coming to terms with the need to acknowledge the fact that America was built on slavery.

We’re far from where we should be, with modern day slave labor still occuring in the prison industrial complex.

Regardless, this is your reminder that we can all choose to examine our own biases, the structures that we support, and the injustices that we perpetuate, and choose to take steps to change and/or dismantle them.

Once again, it’s a choice. One I encourage you to make so together we can create a more just world for everyone.
