Integrity is one of those things that really makes a huge difference.
It’s hard to do, as often when the situation turns against you, it’s easy to rationalize why the rules should change, or not apply to you. Especially as a leader, it’s tempting to keep moving goalposts around so that you always shine.
Just know that this sort of tomfoolery is seen, recorded, and remembered. Having little or no integrity is usually fine short term, but always ends up breaking the camel’s back long term.
It isn’t always easy to stick to your principles, but when you do, you build the foundation for a legacy that will last.
